Defined (both definition and relationships must be met)
Definition:
The anatomical cluster that is composed of a ridge that extends along the margin of a sclerite and the marginal area of the sclerite delimited from the sclerite by the ridge articulating with the inflection of another sclerite.

Relationships / properties:
The inflection is a anatomical cluster.
The inflection is part of the sclerite.

So, according to Ronquist and Nordlander the inflection is a "ridge-like" structure, and does not include the marginal area set off by the ridge (see mesepimeral inflection and subalar area), sometimes the inflection forms a groove for the margin of another sclerite (posterior pronotal inflection). the inflection is a ridge extending close to or on the margin of a sclerite or the inflection is the ridge, and (if the ridge extends close to the margin)the narrow marginal area delimited by the ridge? Could we consider inflection as an anatomical surface that is located at the site of attachment of two sclerite.
